It's always great to clear gutters at more interesting buildings
Today we were out clearing the gutters of this lovely church in South London. Everyday is different in this line of work but we always love to get the oppertunity to clear gutters at more interesting buidings like this church.
Not sure why but every church i've been in has the same smell, can';t quite put my finger on what it is, it's not horrible but i wouldn't want it as an air freshner! Such a shame to see all the windows covered in perspex, a very commion sight thanks to the vandalism that occurs regularly at the sort of locations.
The gutters on this London church are original cast iron and were showing their age with lots of leaks in the joins. These days they make the same style of gutters but out of cast aluminium, powder coated at the factory which don't rust and should easily last another 100 years. Sadly no money in the coffers for that work at this church.
