Should this customer have called a gardener?
When we arrived at this property in Banstead we had a bit of a joke with the customer suggesting maybe they should have called a gardener to prune this extra long hanging basket, then we realised it was in fact an overgrowing blocked gutter!
It was a bit of a shame to remove this shrub from the gutter as we thought it looked quite nice but never the less this was causing big problems with water cascading down the wall when it rained which can potentially lead to considerable water damage.
The advantage of this type of growth is that it is all held together by the roots of the plant so we can usually just pick up one end and then pull the whole thing out in one piece. We can be pretty stubborn sometimes using our very powerful gutter vac knowing that in can in fact lift this kind of plant out of the gutter but it is quite a bit faster to just get the ladder off the van and pull something like this out by hand.
